Chicken Butchering 101

Its time to put some stewing hens in the freezer. 

This class will cover the basics of how to butcher a chicken, a skill which in hard times                 could be the difference between eating or not.  My Mother-in-law told me when I came into         this family, "Learn to butcher a chicken becasue you never know when someone might               show up and you won't have anything to feed them."  At the time I thought, "That will be a             cold day!"  Low and behold, that cold day came. 
       Thank you Fredda Wayman (RIP) for teaching me how to feed my family and others. 
When you have the knowledge to feed yourself, you become empowered. 

You will take a stewing hen home ready to put in the crock pot or the freezer.

Soap Making 201
$50- per person
class size limited to 10

Make your own BIG batch of SOAP (to share or hoard in the stock up pantry)

This class is for to two different groups of people: "those want-a-be" soap makers who plan on making  
      soap at home, but  are not completely confident enough to make their first alone AND for people who want       a large amount of soap without having to gather all the ingredients and knowledge.  Students will make a       bucket of soap ON THEIR OWN (with supervision) and take that bucket of "raw soap" home to finish:       stirring, adding fun ingredients (like dried herbs and flowers) and essential or fragrant oils, pour, cure and             cut into bars. 
      The "raw soap" taken away from this class will be enough for about 60 to 70           bars!!!
      Your flavors, your herbs!  Or select from a combination of ingredients from my apothocary.

  Fun Gigs on the Farm
   Soap Making 101

minimum of four people, maximum 12

Enjoy a fun afternoon on our farm with a group of close friends learning the ancient art of soap making.
Fun birthday gift or friends day out. 
This class teaches the basic fundamentals of natural soap making. Including; why one uses        various oils, how to add herbs and spices, history of soap making, what is saponification,
       and how to create the perfect personalized scent.
       Yummy lunch is included. 
       Everyone in the class will take home the equivalent of 12 bars of their very own home-made soap.
